Wedding | Mallory & Brad

Ceremony Location: St. John's Lutheran Church, Sacrament

Reception Location: Sterling Hotel, Sacramento

Mallory quite literally has the face of an absolute angel!  I mean one look at these images and I am certain everyone with functioning eyeballs can see that women don't come much prettier than her!  But the amazing thing about Mallory---is that her personality is even more breathtaking (as if that is even possible right?!?!).  Just being in her presence will make you want to smile and laugh along with her.  I was so honored when Mallory's bridesmaid, and my fellow "friend-tographer" Tanya Surjan, of Memories By Tanya, sent her my way.  Having the seal of approval from someone as talented as Tanya means the absolute world to me!  I was also fortunate enough to have the lovely Carman Salazar (Carmen Salazar Photography) accompany me as my second shooter.  Brad and Mallory, I just know that your family will enjoy a lifetime of laughter and love and I was thrilled to be a small part of documenting the love story you two are writing together…enjoy this sneak peek. xo

Engagement | Elena & Tyler

One of the UMPTEEN perks of being in this career, is often I am given the honor of photographing several weddings for the same family.  This is just such a case with Elena & Tyler!  I was able to photograph the 16 guest intimate nuptials of her brother Ben and his bride Allie several years ago.  In fact, that wedding was the first of mine ever to be published.  So naturally, I was over the moon when Elena and Tyler became engaged and they invited me to document their love story at the Forest House Lodge next Spring.  For their engagement session, we took advantage of her family property in West Roseville--and the lighting was spectacular!!!!  I am so happy for these two and can not wait for their "i dos..." xo

Wedding | Vanessa & Dylan

Location: Private Estate | Sacramento, California

Rain threatened to invade Vanessa and Dylan's wedding day.  But, as luck would have it, the skies cleared just in time for what was probably the most heartfelt and hilarious ceremony I have ever experienced!  I was laughing and crying all at the same time (and so was everyone else).  It was equal parts mushy and pure ridiculous humor---or in other words---it was just perfect!  Enjoy this glimpse into their beautiful day...xo

Engagement | Jenna & Hector

I had the divine pleasure of meeting the gorgeous Jenna when she herself was a bridesmaid in a wedding I shot a few years ago.  When she and Hector came to me to shoot their Forest House Lodge Wedding next year, I couldn't have been happier!  These two have an effortless ease with another and with the camera that truly make them a dream come true!  Enjoy this peak into their sweet engagement session.

Hair/Makeup: Jessica Palmer of Polish & Pout

Family | Lexi, Abe & Macie

This perfect little family unit holds such a dear place in my heart.  Lexi was one of my very first clients EVER and she has stayed loyal to JRP as I have continued to grow this little business venture of mine.  I have been so incredibly fortunate to shoot this family on many occasions and it warms my heart to see how Macie has grown into such a beautiful little thing!  When Abe proposed to Lexi I was giddy with excitement and knowing that I will be there as they celebrate their family coming together means the world to me!!!! Enjoy this peak into what was one of my very favorite shoots I have done!!!

Maternity | Maria & Ritchie

To say that Baby Number Two was a sweet surprise for Ritchie & Maria is an understatement...after 10 years of hoping, they had accepted that it just wasn't in the cards for them to have a sibling for their handsome son.  But...low and behold...God had other plans and gave them a little miracle due in November.  Congratulations Ruiz family...and thank you so much for allowing me to take part in documenting this beautiful season in your lives. xo

Wedding | Crystal & Tyler

Location: Vizcaya, Sacramento, California

Tyler is a groom who is all things traditional, Star Wars and sentimental.  In fact, the only "unconventional" portion of being wed to beautiful Crystal, was that is it was in fact held on a Monday----BUT---with very good reason.  You see, this particular Monday was the anniversary of his and Crystal's first date---pretty darn romantic right?  With the help of some amazing vendors (listed at the end of this post)...this Monday wedding WAS still quite the dance party and celebration of two very special people in love!

Proposal story from the couple:
"A couple weeks before last Christmas, Tyler nonchalantly told me he wanted to take me out to a nice dinner before he had to have shoulder surgery and I would be busy taking care of him during his recovery. The week leading up to the day, he left a couple times on his own to run errands but I assumed he was out shopping for Christmas gifts for me or picking out a Christmas card for me.

On December 14, 2014 Tyler took me to dinner at Il Fornaio, our "first-date" restaurant. He suggested I wear the same bright fushcia dress I had worn on our first date there. When we got to the restaurant, the hostess, who was in on the secret, led us to a booth in the back corner of the restaurant. I saw that it had a special white and black overlay tablecloth with red rose petals strewn over the table top and on the seats with a large, gorgeous bouquet of red roses on the table. Next to the roses was a framed picture of us from our first date at the same restaurant. My first thought was that he was being extra romantic and I noticed the waitress holding up his cell phone. Thinking she was trying to take a photo for us, I kept trying to pose nicely for the camera. I then noticed Tyler grabbing my hands trying to get my attention before he got down on one knee and that's when I finally realized what he was doing.

After his sweet proposal and I had said "yes", he lifted up his pant leg to reveal a small bulge in his black dress sock. Laughter erupted from the couple sitting near us who witnessed the whole thing. Tyler reached into his sock to reveal the ring box he had hidden in there and slipped on my finger the most beautiful ring.

We then spent the next 2.5 hours there in heightened excitement as he explained how he'd set things up, how he'd secretly asked my parents for their blessing. We eventually ordered and ate. It was probably the best day ever."
