The Hyatt Regency Hotel in Lake Tahoe, as always, provided the perfect, quintessentially breathtaking backdrop for Yvonne & Jakub's wedding day over Memorial Day Weekend. Each and every detail was perfect, but Jakub & Yvonne remained focused on the core purpose of the day...celebrating with their very dearest friends and family. They were one of the most flexible, trusting, low maintenance couples I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Yvonne is absolutely STUNNING and her backless, lace dress, jaw dropping---but for as beautiful as she is on the outside, she radiates kindness, she is patient, sweet natured, and has a calming presence that undoubtedly serves her and her patients well in her career. Also, for as brilliant as Jakub is, he is also funny, witty and has a playful sarcasm that is endearing, and down right charming.
Yvonne and Jakub's love story is so special...because it started in two different countries---and truly speaks of the remarkable power of love and its ability to unite people. Jakub was born in Poland, and Yvonne in China. As adolescents, they immigrated to the Unites States with their families, learned an entirely new language and culture, and set out on their journeys to pursue their education and careers. Fate brought them together on the transplant floor of UC Davis, where Yvonne was a nurse and Jakub a surgical resident. It was there, that two people, from two entirely different worlds met and fell in love. How....MAGNIFICENT...is that!
Just days after their Hyatt Lake Tahoe wedding, Yvonne & Jakub set out on their next big adventure-moving to Atlanta where Jakub will begin his residency as a transplant surgeon! To be able to know these people, and celebrate alongside them in one of the most picturesque places on the plant, was truly a gift. I am happy to know them, and so fortunate to be able to watch their love story as it evolves. xo
